The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services towards the community.
SASSA are going to be rendering companies for example new social grant applications, change of payment method, customer care enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency mentioned it is actually alarmed in regards to the high amount of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The goal with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a higher amount here of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is certainly as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no entirely functional office devoted to SRD service the area daily. The company issue created for intervention encounters a substantial influx of possible beneficiaries, that makes it tricky to the office to attend to all people who stop by a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise far more sources to help the servicing of all customers and raise access to Social Assistance services,” the agency said.
